IN ONE VOICE – JEWISH CULTURE STREET FESTIVAL
In One Voice
The Biggest Celebration of Jewish Life in the Southern Hemisphere
17th March from 11.00am to 5.00pm
The only Jewish community event dedicated to expressing the entire spectrum of Jewish life and culture in Melbourne, including food, music, dance, art and community organisations is promising a feast of sound, taste and experiences on Sunday 17th March.
Selwyn Street, Elsternwick is transformed into festival site, with cultural groups, food stalls, craft stalls, an arts exhibition, a kid’s zone and of course, the very popular sound stage which will this year host world class musicians from Australia and overseas.
The music line-up includes Klezmer funk sensation, Yid! fresh from the launch of their first album Space Klezmer, the poignant sounds of The Bashevis Singers and new to this year’s festival, legends of Israeli children’s music, Yoni’s Giraffe.
Visitors can wonder through the festival and enjoy falafel, middle eastern dips and kosher sausages from some of the best Jewish food vendors in Melbourne, or visit the Nosh Tent to meet with celebrity chefs, community favourites and astonishingly talented amateur bakers on the food stage. Highlights include food favourites Ronnit Hoppe and Delia Baron who recently launched their first recipe book Better Together Kitchen.
In One Voice is the greatest celebration of Jewish culture in Australia with more than 7,000 people attending the event last year.
In One Voice is free, to ensure that it is accessible to everyone. For further information go to www.inonevoice.org.au.
